Going to Daytona Next Year? What You Need to Know
Lucky you! You’re a motorcycle enthusiast in Florida! That means you’re close to Daytona Beach, home of Daytona Beach Bike Week—the biggest biker rally in the world. Despite its name, Bike Week actually spans ten days. Bike Week 2026 is scheduled for February 27th to March 8th, marking the 85th anniversary of this iconic event. With a big turnout expected, it’s a good idea to make your reservations early. If you’ve never been to Daytona before (what’s stopping you?), here are some important things to know in advance.
Have Fun but Follow the Rules
While Daytona Beach Bike Week is all about fun, it’s important to follow Florida state laws. Here are some key rules to keep in mind:
- No lane splitting, nudity, or driving without a muffler or headlights.
- Your motorcycle must be street legal to drive. If you’re not part of a stunt show, both wheels must remain on the ground at all times.
- Drinking is only allowed in designated areas, and operating a vehicle under the influence is strictly prohibited.
- If you want to do a burnout, it must be done in designated areas on the beach where the sand is hard-packed enough for safety.
- While helmets are not required by Florida law, wearing one is strongly recommended. Eye protection, however, is mandatory.
- Many establishments may not cater to individuals displaying gang affiliations, so be mindful of others’ safety and comfort.
Daytona Beach Bike Week is an incredible experience, but respecting the rules ensures everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.
